Do I need BIOS files, and where do I get them?
Some systems — the PlayStation line and a few others — need a BIOS for accurate emulation, and some do not. A BIOS is copyrighted firmware, and the only legitimate source is hardware you own; Handheld Verdict does not host, link, name, or explain how to obtain BIOS files, and our setup coverage assumes you are supplying your own from equipment you legally possess. We flag which systems require one so you know a device’s ceiling depends on more than raw horsepower — but sourcing it legally is on you.
