HANDHELDVERDICT

Buyer guide · for living-room players streaming to the big screen

Couch & Big-Screen Streaming

If most of your play is on the couch or streamed to a TV, the priorities flip: the dock, the hub wattage, and the controller matter more than raw handheld horsepower. Cloud and local-stream both live or die on your network, so the honest lever is Wi-Fi and latency, not the device’s GPU. Buy for the room, not the spec sheet.

What matters most here

  • A dock or hub with enough PD wattage to drive an external display without throttling
  • Low-latency Wi-Fi (or ethernet via the hub) — the real bottleneck for any streaming setup
  • A comfortable separate controller for TV play, judged on stick track record and ergonomics

Honest note · Do not blame the handheld for stream stutter that is really your network — a cheap hub or congested Wi-Fi undoes a flagship device, and no GPU fixes a latency problem upstream of it.
