Stick Drift
Stick drift is input the device registers when you are not touching the stick, caused most often by a worn potentiometer or by dust and deadzone problems. It is the single failure owners resent most, because it degrades a device you otherwise like. Hall-effect sticks engineer out the main cause; good deadzone settings and calibration mitigate the rest. When we weigh inputs, drift track record carries real weight, because a drifting stick ruins an otherwise-excellent handheld.
