Frontend
A frontend is the interface that catalogs your games, shows box art, and hands each title to the correct emulator — EmulationStation, the various device-specific launchers, and RetroArch’s own UI are all examples. A good frontend is the difference between a tidy console-like experience and a folder of confusion, especially on a big library. It organizes and launches; it does not supply games, which you provide from software you legally own.
