Anti-Cheat Compatibility
Some competitive multiplayer games use kernel-level anti-cheat that does not work under Linux’s Proton layer, so they run on a Windows handheld and refuse to launch on SteamOS. Support shifts over time as developers opt in or out, so the honest advice is specific: if a particular anti-cheat title is a must-play, verify its current SteamOS status before buying, because this is one of the few hard compatibility walls between the two platforms and it moves.
