SoC / Chipset
A system-on-a-chip integrates CPU, GPU, and more onto one part; “chipset” is the everyday word for it. On ARM handhelds this is a Snapdragon, Dimensity, Unisoc, or Rockchip part; on PC handhelds it is an x86 APU. The chipset, more than any spec on the box, sets what a device can do — its emulation ceiling, its native-game class, its power behavior — which is why our reviews and the Emulation Ceiling Finder are organized around chipset tiers rather than brand names.
