ARM vs x86
ARM is the power-efficient architecture in phones and Android handhelds; x86 is the desktop architecture in PC handhelds. The practical split: ARM devices run Android and excel at emulation up to a ceiling for very little power, while x86 devices run the full PC library natively at higher power draw. Neither is “better” in the abstract — they answer different questions. ARM for a light, long-lasting emulation and Android machine; x86 for native PC games and the deepest emulation ceiling, plugged into a bigger battery.
