Counterfeit SD Cards
Counterfeit microSD cards are the genuine hazard of buying storage cheap: a card labeled as a huge capacity that actually holds a fraction, reporting the fake size until you fill past the real limit and files silently corrupt. It is a common way collectors lose a library. Defenses are simple: buy from a trusted seller, be suspicious of prices far below market for the capacity, and verify true capacity with a card-test utility before trusting it with anything you cannot re-copy.
