IOPS (Random I/O)

IOPS measures how many small, scattered read/write operations storage handles per second — the pattern that dominates loading a game and streaming assets. It is why the A-class rating (which guarantees a random-IOPS floor) tells you more about real handheld performance than the big sequential MB/s number on the front of the card. A card or drive with high sequential speed but weak random IOPS can still feel slow where it counts. Random I/O is the honest storage spec for gaming.
